About the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic
The Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) at LASOC provides information and workshops on the rights and responsibilities of low-income taxpayers and enables eligible taxpayers to receive free assistance with certain federal tax matters and the preparation of tax returns. In addition, taxpayers may receive representation from an LASOC attorney for IRS controversies including offers in compromise, installment agreements, non-collectible status, innocent spouse relief and general tax compliance. Currently in its fifth year, this program is funded annually through a grant provided by the IRS.
